Commission Only Sales Agents are employed to sell products and services direct to customers and clients in the comfort of those peoples own homes. Rather than earning a flat rate salary, they are offered commission on the sale of products. Successful agents can potentially earn between £20,000 p.a. and £60,000 p.a. which is why the role can be lucrative.
While qualifications are not usually integral to the position, employment into this role can require and proof of capability. Employers often spend money training their sales staff in the details of the products they are selling and they want to be sure they are spending wisely. For this reason also, although qualifications are not always necessary, the ability to learn in a classroom situation can be very useful.
Commission Only Sales Agents are tuned into people; they like dealing with them, enjoy talking to them and love to see lots of different people every day. They also need to be determined and highly motivated to earn as much as they can, which requires a driven attitude and an ability to shut off the distractions at home to enable them to work. A certain level of organisation is required, in order to keep on top of things, and a full driving license is essential.
