Whether you’re searching for a qualified site engineer or looking for a job, you will find a list of UK recruitment agencies on this page who will be able to help.
What does a site engineer do?
A site engineer will manage specific parts of a construction project. While similar to a site manager, they typically use their technical knowledge to advise on all things structural, mechanical or electrical.
Responsibilities may vary but site engineers will often perform tasks such as undertaking surveys, managing materials, giving technical guidance, checking plans and helping with the day-to-day management of a project.
Common employers will include construction firms, civil engineering companies and public sector organisations, with jobs unusually being on a permanent or contract basis. There are, however, also opportunities for temp work or apprenticeships.
Why use a recruitment service?
As they'll already have access to a network of qualified and experienced professionals, recruitment agencies with a construction specialism are a popular method for making site manager hires. They are experts at recruiting in this field and will understand the communication, organisation and analytical skills required of candidates. They’ll also have a knowledge of relevant qualifications and industry bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE).
