A CCTV sales representative is somebody who tries to gain new and repeat business for a security company.
A CCTV sales representative will have to assess untapped areas of the market and try to exploit them with new security systems. There are two types of work activity, business to business (B2B) and business to customer (B2C). A B2B sales representative will try to sell security systems to other businesses, whilst a B2C sales representative will try to sell to anybody. Other tasks include researching the market and developing business plans.
There are many avenues into the CCTV sales industry. Qualifications aren't necessary in all circumstances as some people can move up through a company upon acquiring a lower position; however a degree in marketing, business or a related field will certainly help with employment.
The majority of CCTV sales jobs are available within inner cites, though there are a large amount of B2C opportunities in rural areas as well. CCTV sales jobs are often available through recruitment agencies.
The salary of a CCTV sales representative can vary depending on the company and location. The average salary is around £22,000; whilst an experienced sales person could earn up to £30,000. Some companies may also offer incentive programs which include bonuses if a certain quota is met.
