Management consultants are brought in by businesses to solve problems, support growth or add value. They may advise on a range of different areas, such as strategy, marketing, HR, finance or supply chain. Permanent jobs are available, but organisations will often look to hire candidates in this field on a contract basis.
There is commonly a high demand for the experience and expertise of a management consultant, meaning that the recruitment market is competitive. As well as specialist consulting recruiters, employers may choose to partner with an executive search firm or an agency that focuses solely on their sector, i.e. if the position is within a retail business.
Suitable candidates will require a multitidue of qualities, but the most successful with have an analytical way of thinking, industry knowledge, and a proven track record of problem solving.
