Cambridgeshire is a charming county in the east of England. It's largest town of Cambridge is also its most famous, as well as being the administrative centre of the county. The country has a largely service based economy with over 80% of all employment accounted for as such, but manufacturing also plays a part in employment levels in the region.
The county's unemployment levels hover just below the national average, but there are still plenty of opportunities for employment in the area, especially in the Public Administration, Health, and Education Sector. This is by far the most significant sector for employment in the county, which with both The University of Cambridge and Open University based in the city of Cambridge, is perhaps unsurprising.
The area surrounding the city is also a hub of innovation in fields such as software and bio-sciences and as such the Finance, and IT sector accounts for 22% of all employment. ARM Holdings, the software design company, for example is a major employer in the area.
With major stations around Huntingdon and St Ives, the RAF is also a major employer in the county. In order to make the most of any job search in the county, be sure to utilise the inside knowledge that specialist recruitment agencies can offer. With the highly specialised nature of much of the employment in Cambridgeshire, the area's top employers will undoubtedly advertise any staff openings with such recruitment agencies.
