Fortem People is a boutique recruitment agency based in Skipton, covering Yorkshire and the Dales — including Leeds, Bradford, Craven and Airedale. We specialise in manufacturing recruitment across all roles, from shop floor and production through to engineering, technical and senior leadership positions, alongside professional services recruitment across finance, HR, operations and support functions.

However you need to hire, we offer three ways to work with us: retained search, contingent recruitment, and temporary staffing.

Retained Recruitment

Retained recruitment is a 6-12 month recruitment partnership, tailored to your business needs. You pay a monthly fee for what is effectively an in-house recruitment service — we work as your outsourced recruitment team, sourcing and managing hires across all roles. The monthly fee is agreed upfront, based on the scale of work required.

Contingent Recruitment

For permanent recruitment roles, we work on an exclusive basis. We ask for a six-week period of exclusivity on every role, which lets us focus fully on your vacancy and deliver the best possible shortlist. You pay a fee only once we've placed a candidate.

Temporary / Temp Recruitment

Our temporary recruitment service supplies vetted, work-ready staff at short notice across Yorkshire, from single-day cover to longer-term assignments. Whether you need extra hands on a production line, cover for absence, or support through a busy period, we supply temporary staff for manufacturing and professional services roles across Skipton, Leeds, Bradford, Craven and the surrounding Dales.

Should you wish to use our offices just outside of Skipton, we offer the use of these to clients we work with free of charge. These can be used for staff training days, assessment centres (We write and run these), as well as company events.
