Air Conditioning Engineer recruitment agency listing
How hot or cold the air is, whether its in a cinema, a hospital, a school or another public place, plays a large part in the comfort of the people who use those places. An Air Conditioning Engineer is a specialist role which installs, maintains and repairs the systems that control air quality, humidity, and temperature.
The more flexible an engineer is, the more attractive he or she will be to recruitment agencies and employers. In some cases the working conditions may be cramped or in hazardous places, such as on the roof of a building, off scaffolding, or in cellars.
Salaries for qualified engineers reflect this requirement for flexibility, ranging from around £20,000 p.a. to about £32,500 p.a. as an incentive.
Qualifications are important for employment as electrical, chemical and mechanical equipment is being installed and maintained, often in public places, and proof of competence is vital. Recruitment agencies are also unlikely to accept someone who doesn't have any official training. This usually starts with an apprenticeship and NVQ Mechanical Engineering Services 1-3 Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
Good candidates for the role would be practical people who can follow technical drawings, work safely and methodically, measure accurately and can follow instructions. They would be expected to be team players that could also work on their own.
