Although Yorkshire itself is no longer strictly a county (being split into geographic regions such as West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire), it is still popularly referred to as such. North Yorkshire is in fact the largest county in England (geographically speaking). Yorkshire contains a number of large cities, but also vast swathes of rural land and coastline - and as such is home to a wide variety of business.
HR and Recruitment is an important part of any business, and this tends to be ever more the case as a firm grows larger. Agency Central is all about helping you to recruit and employ the best candidate for the role by putting you in touch with recruitment agencies who are expert in your area. If you are an employer looking for a recruitment agency to help you fill a vacancy - whether permanent, temp, or contract - or a candidate seeking a new job, then we can help.
The 2011 Census of England and Wales did not include HR as a separate industry sector for employment, but rather included it under the heading of Admin and Support Service Activities. This sector was proportionately larger in areas including Hull (where it employed 0.9% more people than was the average for England and Wales that year), Leeds, and Barnsley (which were both 0.4% above the average). Given the relatively generic nature of this industry heading, small fluctuations from the average such as these are interesting - suggesting that hiring for this sector might be unusually popular in these areas.
