The UK has 362 operational wind farms and is the eighth biggest producer of wind power in the world. There are 4,158 wind turbines in the country and the UK has an installed capacity of 8,445 megawatts. By 2020 the UK is estimated to be capable of 28,000 MW of wind capacity.

Salaries for Wind Turbine Engineers can start at around £30-40,000, while management roles are usually paid £60,000 and over. Large companies such as E.ON and RES have sites around the UK and there are also opportunities to work on off-shore wind farm projects.
