More information
The cathedral city of Lincoln is situated in the county of Lincolnshire in England. The city's name is believed to have originated from the name the Celts gave their settlement during the Iron Age, when it was called "Lindon" (meaning "the pool"). In 2011, the total population was estimated to be around 93,000.
The city was a major industrial hub in the 19th and 20th centuries, but many of these former businesses have now stopped production. Thankfully, regeneration in the area has come from new companies, such as Lincs FM radio and LA Fitness, moving into the empty industrial space.
